Jewellery kits are bead embroidery you wear rather than hang on a wall: brooches, bracelets, collars, necklaces, hair accessories and doll pendants. The section holds 182 kits, each with artist canvas carrying the full-colour design, Czech Preciosa beads, a needle, the findings for assembly and step-by-step illustrated instructions.

How jewellery differs from a picture

  • Finishing is part of the project. The clasp, brooch back, chain or ribbon is already in the box, so nothing has to be ordered separately.
  • The edge is worked. The piece never goes under glass, so the instructions cover closing the back and finishing the edge.
  • Finer work. Microbeads appear often and the beads sit closer together: 163 kits are rated medium difficulty.

Questions and answers

Which piece should I start with?

A bracelet: about 1,400 beads, three colours, an easy rating and a few evenings of work. A collar of 8,000 beads is better left until later.

Are the findings included?

Yes. Depending on the item that means a brooch back, crimp ends, a hook, a jump ring, a chain or a ribbon.

Can beaded jewellery be washed?

No. Clean it locally with a damp cloth and store it flat without folding. More in caring for a bead embroidery piece.

Will it stand up to everyday wear?

Yes, provided the thread tension is even and the back is closed as the instructions describe. The load is carried by the base and the edge finish rather than by the beads.
