Cotton abrades against the edge of the bead and stretches under their weight, so the rows sag over time.
Which colour should I choose?
Match the base, not the beads: the thread should not show through the gaps between them. White suits pale canvases.
Does the thread fade?
No, polyester stands up to sun, washing and household chemicals.
How much thread does a piece need?
Roughly 1 metre per 250–300 beads, so a design of 8,000 beads uses about 30 m.
