Description
An old rotary telephone among roses: “Waiting for Your Call” plays on a retro mood.
What the picture shows
The telephone is worked in beige and brown tones: a tall handset on its cradle, a round numbered dial, a curved body, with the metal details picked out in golden metallic thread. Below, it sinks into roses — pink and cream blooms at different stages of opening, buds and dark green leaves. Grass and thin stems run out to the sides as outlines only, while the ecru canvas stays as the background. The dial and handset are worked in fine gradations of grey and beige, the roses in soft pink blends. The thread length is 57 m.
