Description
“Catch the Moment” shows an old camera among garden flowers with a butterfly above it. The composition is simple and reads at first glance.
What the picture shows
The camera sits centrally at the bottom: a grey body with dark details, a large lens with several rings, a round viewfinder and a shutter button on top. The metal is stitched in cool grey shades with white highlights, and a bluish glint of glass shows on the lens. Yellow sunflowers, blue asters, an orange bloom and small lilac clusters on thin stems rise behind and to the sides. A butterfly with ochre and black wings sits above. The ecru fabric stays as background, and against it the grey body of the camera does not look cold. Rings with knurling and thin markings picked out in single stitches show on the lens. The sunflowers have dark centres with a fine grid, the asters narrow radiating petals, and the butterfly wings are worked symmetrically, with white specks along the edge.
