Description

“Luxury” is an upright frame on an emerald ground: blue scrollwork in the corners, pink roses along the bottom and a small beetle among the petals.

What the picture shows

The background is green-turquoise with soft watercolour washes. The rectangular border is worked in two rows of blue beads, and in the top left and bottom right corners it opens into full scrolls with pale blue and pearl accents. A branch of small coral-pink buds and green leaves climbs the left edge, and along the bottom three large roses open — pink, cream-peach and pale pink, with red buds on either side. A beetle sits between them: a red back with black spots, a blue head and fine antennae. Inside the border the canvas is left clear for a photograph, and the green ground is not beaded either — it stays printed.
