Description
A hot-air balloon drifts through a night sky among clouds and stars — “Air adventures” is done in deep blue and gold.
What the picture shows
The balloon fills the centre of the canvas: dark blue panels alternate with golden ochre ones, and a large sun with a face and rays opens in the middle. A band of five-pointed stars runs below it, and the rim is finished with a gold border. A woven basket hangs on its lines, with a small figure inside. Four-pointed stars are scattered around, and a crescent moon sits at the upper right. Layered clouds — blue, grey-blue and cream — take up the lower half of the picture. There are only fifteen colours and the areas are large, so it paints more easily than it looks. The sun on the balloon is the only place where the colours shift gradually; the rest of the drawing is made of flat patches.

The 400×500 mm canvas is stretched on a 15 mm wooden frame and the kit includes a wall mount — the picture hangs without a frame. Once dry, the work is coated with the acrylic varnish from the kit so the colour keeps its depth. The subject is calm and neutral, so the picture works equally well in a child's room or a living room.
