Description

“Winter tea” is a glass of hot tea with orange and cinnamon, set straight onto a knitted scarf.

What the picture shows

At the centre stands a thick glass mug of amber tea with orange slices, a cinnamon stick and a spoon, steam rising above it. The mug rests on a red-and-green striped scarf with a clearly knitted texture. Fir sprigs, red cranberries, a star anise and an iced gingerbread star lie beside it, and snow falls all around. The background is grey-blue and blurred, like a frosted window. Cross stitch runs solidly and the canvas is fully covered. The knitted texture of the scarf is worked in separate rows of stitches, so the stripes look three-dimensional. The steam over the mug is worked in the palest greys and almost merges with the background.
