What it is

Two plastic rings, the outer one split and screwed: the fabric goes between them and is tightened to the tension you want. The work does not gather into folds, and the stitches lie evenly across the whole area. The plastic is light, so the hoop does not tire the hand over a long session, and it can be wiped with a damp cloth without harm.
