Description

“Whispering Grass” is a summer meadow seen close up: dandelions, cornflowers and thin stems, as if caught by the eye on a walk across a field.

What the picture shows

Yellow dandelions of different sizes are scattered over the whole picture, with blue and violet cornflowers, green stems, buds and narrow leaves between them. Towards the top the design lightens and dissolves into a pale yellow haze, while the greenery thickens below. The colours are soft and gradual, like watercolour; the white canvas is left unstitched at the edges, so the work looks like a study on paper. The dandelions are built from several yellows, from almost white to ochre, while the cornflowers gain depth from blue and violet. With 119 m of thread there is plenty of area to fill.
