Cross Stitch Kit "Watercolor fantasy"
Description
“Watercolor fantasy” — red poppies stitched as if just painted in wet watercolour.
What the picture shows
The flowers form a loose group: five open poppies with dark centres and several buds on thin stems. The petals have no firm edge — the colour flows from deep red through terracotta to faded pink and in places almost disappears. A patch of blurred orange lies behind them, and long runs of paint drip from the flowers below. A thin dark outline is laid over all this, following not the edge of the petal but a line beside it, slightly shifted — and that device is what makes the piece look like a watercolour study. Twenty-eight thread colours, small stitch on count 18 canvas. The buds are seen from different angles — one in profile, one from above — so the group never looks flat.
