Description

“Warm at home” is an old shelf of small things with the wooden letters HOME standing above it. The letters come with the kit as real wooden pieces, not stitched.

What the picture shows

The composition is vertical and assembled from objects: a frame with the word love on a chalkboard ground and a wooden star at the top, then a zinc bucket of dried hydrangeas, corked glass bottles, a tray, a cake stand under a cloche and several small drawers with handles. Everything stands on a plank shelf against a wall of faded wood. The palette is muted — grey-blue, ochre, ashy pink, old timber. The stitching is solid and the ecru cloth is fully covered. There are many small objects, so the piece is stitched zone by zone: the shelf, the wall, each object in turn.
