Cross Stitch Kit "The melody of the autumn wind"
Description
“The melody of the autumn wind” shows an old windmill and a house among a colourful flower bed. The piece is light, with the feel of a windy day.
What the picture shows
The windmill stands slightly left of centre: a white stone tower with a red cap and four broad sails ruled into small sections. A house with a rusty red roof, wooden walls and turquoise doors nestles to the right. A band of flowers spreads in front — red, yellow, orange and blue specks on green, laid in small separate stitches. A pale sandy path leads to the house. An autumn tree stands behind on the left, and the upper edge of the design stays light and almost transparent. Count 18 fabric gives the small stitch all this detail needs. The mill sails are ruled into small cells, each of which has to be counted separately — this is the most painstaking part. The flower bed below is made of hundreds of separate specks, and the path lightens towards the front edge, so it seems to come straight up to the viewer.
