Cross Stitch Kit "The first bouquet"
Description
“The first bouquet” shows a handful of early flowers in a plain glass jar — the moment when the first thing to bloom is brought in from the garden.
What the picture shows
The bouquet is made of freesias and crocuses in lilac, purple and white; some blooms are open, others still closed. The glass jar is stitched in light grey-blue tones — green stems are visible through it in the water, and this transparency effect rests on just a few shades. Petals fallen onto the table below are scattered loosely and add ease to the composition. The background is taken as a soft yellow and blue patch that then dissolves into the white fabric. The kit is rated simple: there are more large plain areas here than fine detail. The most interesting part is the water in the jar: it is stitched a shade lighter than the glass, and the stems inside look broken. The crocuses have striped petals, the freesias show yellow markings in the throat, and single petals and tiny drops are scattered on the table.
