Cross Stitch Kit "Symphony of water"
Description
“Symphony of water” shows an old watermill above a stream, painted lightly and transparently. The water under the wheel splashes and carries the movement of the whole picture.
What the picture shows
The building stands slightly left of centre: half-timbered walls with dark beams, a tiled roof in a warm ochre tone, a chimney and small windows with light burning in them. To the right of the mill are a wooden bridge and a large wheel with dark blades, with white and blue foam beneath it. The river below is stitched in blue, turquoise and grey with white highlights, and stones lie along the banks. The trees behind are taken in light green and ochre, while the top edge is deliberately left almost unstitched, so the scene seems flooded with daylight. The mill roof is built from rows of tiles, each row slightly darker than the one above. Separate blades and falling drops show on the wheel, and short white strokes lie on the water beneath it — they are what read as spray.
