Description

“Sunny paradise” is a sea sunset set inside a ring made of driftwood. A design built from fifty-one shades.

What the picture shows

The ring is made of a twisted grey branch with bark and stubs; it is not closed and turns into leaves at the top. Inside sits a low horizon: an orange sun over turquoise water, a pink-and-yellow sky with clouds, a strip of sand with shells and a snail. Red flowers stand in the water on the left, and a pendant of feathers, beads and red cord hangs on the right. The colours are bright but the transitions are soft. The canvas is fully covered in cross stitch, and beads add shine to the pendant and the shells. The bark of the branch is drawn in separate dark strokes, so the ring looks rough against the smooth water.
