Description
“Summer’s doorstep” shows a turquoise dragonfly above a band of stylised flowers.
What the picture shows
A dragonfly with a long body and translucent wings flies at the top of the design, worked in turquoise and green. Below it runs an even row of stylised flowers and leaves — orange, blue and mint, with small dotted stitches between the stems. The word “summer” is stitched underneath. The composition is simple and graphic, and the fabric of the bag stays as the background. The dragonfly’s wings are worked in sparse pale stitches, the flowers in dense even blocks of colour. The kit holds 22 thread colours and 56 m of thread.

The shopper measures 380×420 mm. The stitches are placed over the waste canvas, which is removed afterwards, while the fabric is stabilised from the back with interfacing. The finished bag is ready for daily use. The lettering under the flowers gives the composition a base line, so it does not drift. The QR code gives a digital version of the chart for the SAGA app; the paper sheet stays in the kit. That way the squares can be counted straight from a phone.
