Description

“Rosebud” is a patchwork square with a dark green star and four red squares in the corners.

What the picture shows

The canvas is printed as stitched patches: deep green rays, pale green gaps, red corners. The beads run along every seam — green over green, red over red — so the geometry reads like a miniature quilt. The cream ground is left open and only outlined. The square is trimmed with a green rim and hangs on a white ribbon. The second part of the work is a matching square with a green pinwheel and red patches.

A square like this is not only for the holidays: it hangs on a fabric shelf, a basket or a cupboard door. The pattern is in colour and printed straight on the canvas. The scissors, the floral paper and the linen in the photo are styling props. The red squares are worked last — they close the composition at the corners.
