Description

“Silver wolf” is a wolf’s head laid out as a fine ornament on black canvas.

What the picture shows

The face is built from lines rather than patches: white and silver-grey outlines form triangles, diamonds, lattices and zigzags that follow the direction of the fur. Bluish areas are added on the ears and cheeks, and the lower part of the muzzle is assembled from smaller patterns. The only spot of colour is the green eyes with their narrow pupils. The black ground is not stitched at all: the head reads as a drawing in white on black, with the canvas acting as the background.
