“Sapphire eyes” is a close-up of a kitten’s face filling almost the whole design.

What the picture shows

Two round blue eyes with black pupils and white highlights sit on a diagonal — one in the upper right, the other lower down. Between them are a dark nose and cheeks covered with long fluffy fur. The fur is worked in cream, grey and ochre with fine transitions, while the whiskers and single hairs are stitched in long straight lines over the finished cross stitch. At the bottom the face rests on blue-and-white fabric gathered into folds. The background is stitched throughout.
