“Roundabout” — a carousel horse inside a pink circle with bunting, bubbles and gold scrolls.

What the picture shows

In the centre is a white horse with a pink mane and tail, a flowered saddle on its back and a golden pole with a crown running through it. A pale pink circle surrounds it, hung with triangular flags and sprinkled with small blue dots. A gold cartouche with scrolls and stars supports the composition below, and transparent bubbles float around the rim. Thirty-three thread colours give a pastel range: powder pink, mint, sky blue and warm gold. The ecru canvas stays open outside the circle and softens the drawing. The flags and bubbles are deliberately set at uneven intervals, so the ring never looks drafted. The gold details are worked in ochre and warm yellow, without metallic thread — no shine is intended here.
