Cross Stitch Kit "Protector of a foreign home"
Description
“Protector of a foreign home” shows a red fox curled up in a large bird’s nest beside two eggs. The scene is quiet and slightly ironic.
What the picture shows
The nest takes up almost the whole surface: the twigs are worked in separate stitches in several shades of brown and grey, interlacing in a circle and sticking out at the edges. The fox sleeps inside — the fur runs from deep ginger to cream on the chest and tail tip, the nose tucked into the paws, the eyes closed. Two pale blue eggs lie to the left. Green leaves and thin branches peep out from behind the nest. The background is light, with faint grey strokes, and the coffee fabric softens the contrast. The twigs in the nest are laid in different directions and overlap here and there, so the weave looks real. The fox’s tail wraps around her, with a white tip; the ears are lined in a darker shade, and a pale patch lies on the cheek.
