Cross Stitch Kit "On wings to the dream"
Description
“On wings to the dream” shows a crane taking off among large coral peonies. A golden ribbon winds around the composition and picks up the bird’s movement.
What the picture shows
The bird fills the upper half of the design: an open wing with clearly drawn flight feathers, a long neck, a black and white head with a red patch. The plumage is stitched in greys and whites with thin dark outlines. Below and to the left are three open peonies in a warm coral tone with yellow centres and dense green foliage. The thin golden ribbon running along the edge is worked in metallic thread and gives a light shimmer. The background is not stitched: the white fabric holds the space around the bird and keeps the silhouette airy. The crane’s head is worked out separately: a black band across the eye, a red patch on the nape, a long grey beak. The peonies below have several dozen petals each, and that is where most of the 20 thread colours go — the gradations inside the blooms are very fine.
