Cross Stitch Kit "Natural grace"
Description
“Natural grace” shows a pale snake coiled around a large peony. The drawing is built like a tattoo: a clear outline, soft filling and plenty of open space.
What the picture shows
The snake’s body runs in a wave from the bottom left corner upwards and closes in a loop around the flower; the scales are marked with small stitches in ivory and ochre, and the head is small, with a dark eye and a forked tongue. The peony above is pink and crimson, its petals densely laid; a smaller bud sits below. The leaves are muted green with a grey cast, and small petals and thin twigs are scattered around. The background is not stitched — the white fabric remains part of the drawing. The 20 thread colours work here for smooth gradations inside the flower. The scales on the snake run in small rows that gradually shrink towards the tail, with a lighter band along the back. The peony has several dozen petals laid in a spiral, and deep inside the flower the colour thickens to almost cherry.
