“Moonlight geometry” — a thin gold crescent laced with flowers among stars on a black ground.

What the picture shows

The crescent is drawn in gold metallic thread — hollow inside, with a fine mesh pattern along its edge. A branch with pink and crimson flowers and narrow green leaves rests on the lower horn, and a few blooms lie directly on the arc. Stars are scattered around: some worked in thread, others in PRECIOSA #10 beads, so they truly catch the light. Twenty-two thread colours across only 33 m of thread: much of the black canvas serves as an even ground, and the drawing works as graphics. The flowers are gathered at the lower part of the arc, so the upper horn of the crescent stays empty and light. The stars vary in size: the larger ones are beads, the smaller ones single stitches, and together they give a sense of deep sky. The small leaves are worked separately, a stitch at a time.
