Description

“Moment Before Christmas” shows a decorated tree with a pile of wrapped presents beneath it. Nothing extra, just the anticipation of the holiday.

What the picture shows

The tree stands in the centre, its branches spreading in tiers, the needles stitched in several shades of green — from dark to silvery grey. Baubles in pale pink, mint and gold hang on it, with a star at the top. Boxes tied with ribbons lie under the tree in pastel tones. Behind is a light circle, like frosty glow, and below a pinkish floor with small specks. Part of the decorations is picked out with beads, pearls, bugle beads and sequins, so the tree really sparkles. In the photo the piece is shown in a hoop — the hoop is not included in the kit. The branches of the tree lie in tiers, each one slightly lighter than the last — this is how the tree gains volume. Folds of paper and knots of ribbon show on the boxes, and the glow behind is worked in very pale stitches that almost merge with the fabric.
