Description

“Miracles” is an owl in a big purple witch's hat, one yellow eye looking out from under the brim. A Halloween portrait without any scares.

What the picture shows

The owl's head fills the lower two thirds: grey-beige plumage shot with russet and mauve, fine speckles on the chest, a hooked beak. The hat tilts to one side, its wide brim carrying a black band with a gold buckle, the crown shifting from purple to deep blue. Splashes fly around — orange, lilac, black dots and runs — leaving most of the ground empty. The stitching is solid, so the canvas is fully covered. The chest feathers are worked as small speckles in two or three shades, and the wings stay out of frame. The buckle on the hat is the only gold detail in the whole design.
