Description

“Meadow`s Whisper” is a dense bunch of poppies and meadow herbs. The range is warm: red, orange and pink on coffee fabric.

What the picture shows

In the centre is a large red flower with a dark heart, beside it several orange and yellow poppies at different stages of opening, while pink delphiniums and small white blooms rise above and to the sides. Green seed heads and downy stems show below, with pebbles and soil between them. The petals are worked in many close shades, from pale yellow to almost terracotta. The upper part of the design is light, almost transparent; the coffee fabric stays as background and ties all the warm colours together. The 52 thread colours are the biggest part of the work. The poppy petals are thin and crumpled, with dark veins near the base; the seed heads are covered with small vertical marks. The delphiniums are made of dozens of tiny flowers, each worked in two or three stitches — the longest part of the project.
