Description

“Magic night” shows a blue owl sitting in the snow with a Christmas tree built entirely of snowflakes behind it. Worked on black cloth.

What the picture shows

The owl is small and round, with large orange eyes, a white brow and a triangular yellow beak; its body is worked in blue, turquoise and deep cornflower, with a pale patch on the chest. It sits on a white drift at the bottom. Behind it a cone rises, laid out in white snowflakes of different sizes — dense at the base and sparser towards the top, where a star shines. The ground is a deep night sky with turquoise and violet washes and scattered stars. The black canvas stays visible in places and works as darkness. Beads in three colours strengthen the glitter of the snowflakes.
