Cross Stitch Kit "Lace of the Invisible World"
Description
“Lace of the Invisible World” shows a spider on a web framed by flowers. The design is graphic: almost everything is worked in outline, with little colour.
What the picture shows
The web is stitched in thin pale grey lines that fan out from the centre and are joined by arcs. A black spider with long legs and a round body sits on it, a lilac patch visible on its back. The wreath around is made of deep pink flowers, green ribbon-like leaves, yellow spikelets and several cocoons. Small spiders hang on threads below. The background is not stitched — the white fabric is the space of the web itself. Small drops of dew are picked out with beads, supplied in the kit separately. The web is not symmetrical: in places the threads sag, and in one spot it is torn. The flowers in the wreath are turned at different angles, each showing stamens, and the cocoons are worked as dense ovals with thin constrictions.
