“Keeper of dreams” — a female figure in a long dress, woven from night light and star dust.

What the picture shows

The figure stands with her back to us, her head slightly turned, and has almost no firm outline: she emerges from the dark in bands of blue, turquoise and silver. The dress spreads into a wide train below, where the colours move from deep ultramarine to almost white, and small stars worked in metallic thread scatter along its edges. The hair is pinned up and a halo glows around the head. The background is a dark sky with uneven light, denser near the figure. Twenty-two thread colours across 174 m, of which 25 m is metallic thread. The black canvas stays open at the edges. The face is not drawn at all — only the line of a cheek shows, and that makes the figure seem bodiless. The train of the dress widens downwards and takes up almost a third of the piece.
