Description

“In the mountains” is a night mountain view set into the shape of a maple leaf. The wooden leaf-shaped frame comes with the kit.

What the picture shows

The design is seen through the shaped opening of the frame, so the outline of the work is the toothed contour of a maple leaf. Inside: snowy peaks worked in white and grey, a band of dark conifer forest beneath them, a small cabin at the foot. Above is a black sky scattered with small white stars and a thin crescent moon. There are only six colours, and the black canvas is barely stitched: it is what makes the night. Nineteen metres of floss is the lowest thread use of any kit in either batch. The cabin below is tiny, just a few stitches, yet it is what sets the scale of the whole view.
