Cross Stitch Kit "Hunting for nectar"
Description
“Hunting for nectar” — two bumblebees on thistles: heavy striped bodies, clear wings and lilac blooms.
What the picture shows
The bumblebees are stitched close up — you can see the pile on their backs, the joints of the legs and the veins in the wings, which are made half-transparent in pale threads with a gold sheen. Below them open the thistle heads: prickly green cups in rows of scales and a dense lilac-violet brush of petals above. The stems are thick and thorny, the leaves grey-green. The background is a blurred lilac patch with fine dots, like pollen in the air. Thirty-five thread colours across 112 m, most of them going into the petal transitions and the furry bodies. The fabric at the edges is left plain. One bumblebee sits on a flower, the other hovers in the air, and the movement between them is visible. The thorns on the stems are worked as separate short stitches in a dark tone.
