Description

“Hot day” shows a white rabbit asleep right in the thick meadow grass, legs stretched out. Flowers surround him on all sides and almost close above him.

What the picture shows

The rabbit lies diagonally, side on to the viewer: ears thrown back, eyes closed, fur worked very finely — the design is on count 18 fabric, so the stitch is small and the coat turns out soft. Around him are red, orange, yellow and white flowers on dark green leaves; the background is dense and fully stitched, with no gaps. The colours are bright but held together: a warm scatter of blooms against deep greenery. The fine details — shadows under the paws, pink inner ears, single stalks — are what make this a high-difficulty design. The flowers around the rabbit do not repeat: there are poppies, daisies, small yellow stars and several buds still closed. Every bloom is stitched in a few shades, so at close range you can see shadows inside the petals and dark centres.
