Cross Stitch Kit "Golden bee"
Description
“Golden bee” is a bee in an openwork setting, stitched with metallic thread on black cloth. Only five colours in all.
What the picture shows
The bee is shown from above: a striped abdomen with clear cross bands, transparent wings with fine veins, legs resting on the scrolls of the ornament. A symmetrical frame of small tendrils, drops and leaves spreads around it, with a small crown at the top and a pointed pendant below. Everything is worked in gold and warm ochre, shading to bronze in places. The black canvas is not filled in: it stays as the ground, and the whole design lives on that contrast. The symmetry is complete: the left and right halves of the ornament mirror each other, so the chart is easy to follow.

The small 140×180 mm format is a project for a few evenings, often hung as a series with the other golden insects. The frame is chosen separately, and it is better finished without glass so the thread keeps its shine. Five colours and 65 metres of floss — despite the small format there are many fine lines here.
