Description

“From Mama Bunny, with Love” shows a rabbit in an apron holding a pumpkin, with three more lying at her feet. The piece is warm and small.

What the picture shows

The figure stands in the centre, slightly turned: white fur with grey shadows, long raised ears, lowered eyes. She wears a blue long-sleeved dress and a yellow apron with a heart stitched on the pocket. In her hands she holds an orange pumpkin with a green stalk. Three more pumpkins of different sizes lie below, with pink and orange flowers, small leaves and thin tendrils growing beside them. The background is not stitched: the white fabric stays clean and the silhouette reads very easily. There are 24 thread colours. Folds on the apron and dress are marked by a few darker lines, which makes the fabric look soft. The pumpkins show lengthwise grooves and short curled stalks, and the heart on the pocket is worked in its own colour and reads from a distance.
