Cross Stitch Kit "Forest guard"
Description
“Forest guard” — a deer standing in mist between tree trunks with an orange glow behind.
What the picture shows
The forest is given as vertical bands: dark pine trunks receding one behind another, grey mist hanging between them, and the crowns closing almost black above. Slightly below the middle stands the deer — a dark silhouette with spreading antlers, turned to one side; a narrow stream with highlights runs beneath it. An orange glow burns behind the trunks and fades towards the edges, giving the whole piece its depth. Twenty-seven thread colours across 179 m, most of them spent on the move from black to warm light. The stitching is dense and very little fabric is left bare. The antlers are worked in the darkest thread and read as a silhouette even against the dark ground. The trunks in the foreground are the darkest, with narrow bright gaps left between them.
