Description

“Fluffy kitten” is a kitten peering out of the dark: a greenish eye, long whiskers and a white bib on its chest.

What the picture shows

The face sits in the upper part, turned slightly aside: striped ginger, grey and black fur, a pink nose, eyes of different colour — one amber, one green. The whiskers are worked as long pale stitches that run beyond the silhouette. The chest and paws are white and fluffy with soft grey shading. The rest of the area is black canvas left deliberately unstitched as a background, so the kitten seems to step out of the dark. This is one of the few cross-stitch designs where the cloth is not covered completely. The fur is worked in short stitches of varying length, so the silhouette has a ragged, fluffy edge.
