Description

“First dawn” — a circle in which a single tree lives through all four seasons at once.

What the picture shows

The crown is divided into sectors: spring branches with pink blossom on the left, dense summer green above, autumn on the right in ochre, copper and falling leaves, and a winter part below in blue and lilac with curls of frost. The trunk is dark and curved, and the roots turn into waves and spirals that fill the lower half of the circle, together with an orange sun, emerald water and violet scrolls. Forty-three thread colours carry the move from warm to cold. PRECIOSA #10 beads are set as sparks across the crown and the waves. Outside the circle the fabric is left unstitched. Each sector has its own set of shades, so the change of season is visible even from a distance.
