Description

“Feather-2” is a narrow silver feather with flowers and a butterfly, stretched along the whole format. Three floss colours.

What the picture shows

The feather stands almost upright with a slight curve: shaft and barbs are worked in fine pale stitches, and the tip breaks into separate filaments falling downward. A butterfly with net-patterned wings sits among the barbs in the upper third, and two flowers open below — deep burgundy and cream with a gold centre. The rest of the area is unstitched black canvas, against which the pale lines read almost as line art. The format is narrow, 100×220 mm. The flowers sit in the lower third, so the upper part stays almost transparent. The butterfly is the only element that steps sideways out of the feather’s outline.
