Description

“Easter tree” is a crown shaped like an egg, with painted eggs hanging from its branches. Worked on light yellow cloth.

What the picture shows

The trunk is thin, with branches fanning out from it, carrying small leaves and white blossom, and the whole crown outlines a true oval. About a dozen painted eggs hang from the branches: pink, lilac, orange and turquoise, each with its own pattern of stripes, dots, flowers and crosses. A few more eggs lie under the tree among the grass. The colours are clean and festive with no dark patches; the design reads as a silhouette on a light ground. Thirty-two shades over forty-four metres of floss make a simple-level project. The patterns on the eggs never repeat, so each one is stitched as a small separate piece.
