Description

“Easter is coming soon” shows a large decorated egg with a blue geometric pattern set in a wreath of spring flowers. The design is light and calm, without extra decoration.

What the picture shows

The egg stands in the centre, creamy white, covered with a grid of diamonds and wavy lines in light and deep blue. The wreath around it is made of white narcissi with yellow centres, blue tulips, small blue flowers and green leaves with pointed tips. The composition is symmetrical, though not literally — each side has its own set of blooms. Count 18 fabric gives the small stitch needed for the fine pattern on the egg. The background stays plain white, so the wreath reads as a separate object. The pattern on the egg is the most demanding part: diamonds nested one inside another, each filled with a fine grid, so any miscount shows at once. The narcissi around have frilled trumpets, and the tulips have tightly folded petals with a shadow at the base.
