Cross Stitch Kit "Daughter of the Moon"
Description
“Daughter of the Moon” shows a red-haired girl with a barn owl on her shoulder against a golden moon. The sky behind is covered with constellations.
What the picture shows
The girl’s face is tilted, her eyes closed, her skin pale and freckled; her copper hair is braided into a plait falling to the right. A white owl sits on her shoulder: a heart-shaped face, finely stitched plumage, dark eyes. Behind is a large golden circle of the moon with a soft texture, and around it a deep blue sky with white stars, constellation lines and pale clouds. Count 18 fabric gives the small stitch needed for the face and the feathers. The fabric is stitched completely, so the sky looks deep. The freckles on the face are marked with single stitches, and it is they that make the portrait alive. The owl’s plumage lies in small rows with dark specks, and the girl’s plait is worked so that each strand shows. The constellations behind are joined by thin lines.
