Description

“Cozy in the forest” — a fairy-tale forest with a small house: ball-shaped trees, cone-shaped trees and not a straight line anywhere.

What the picture shows

The trees stand in a dense group and all differ in shape: tall dark blue cones, round yellow and orange crowns on thin trunks, spreading light-green bushes with textured edges. The colours are clean and flat, with almost no shading, so the forest looks drawn rather than copied from life. A small house with a gabled roof and a round window peeps out at the lower left, with a pale path leading down from it. Moss and small shrubs cover the ground. Twenty-five thread colours across 156 m: a large kit with a tightly held palette. The ecru canvas stays open at the edges. The path crosses the design diagonally and leads the eye from the house to the upper edge.
