Description

“Cool pattern” shows a large snowflake built from plant motifs. The piece looks more like carving than a winter postcard.

What the picture shows

Six rays radiate symmetrically from the centre, each ending in a branching of small twigs and points. Leaves and petals in a cool blue shade are set inside the snowflake, while the frame itself is stitched in warm beige and brown — the whole design rests on that contrast. A small square medallion with a blue dot sits in the middle. Part of the lines is worked in metallic thread, so the pattern catches the light at different angles. The white fabric stays as the background, and the snowflake looks as if it had been cut from paper. A whole botany is hidden inside the rays: leaves with toothed edges, small petals, drop-shaped buds. The beige frame has its own hatching that imitates carving, while the blue insets are laid solidly, without gradation, so they look like glass.
