Description

“Colored town-2” — a second coloured town: the same line work, now on white fabric and with a car in the street.

What the picture shows

Houses with tall roofs and small windows are drawn in a thin dark line. Only two of them are filled with colour — a brick-red one with white shutters and a yellow one with a blue shopfront below; the rest stay pure outline. There is an outlined street lamp on the right, a turquoise awning over a doorway on the left, and a small retro car in front of the houses. Light clouds and birds are sketched above the roofs, and fine cobble lines fan out towards the viewer. Twenty-one thread colours, most of them spent on the two coloured façades. The fabric is left plain, so the drawing looks like a page from a sketchbook. The outline matters more than the colour here: most of the work is an even thin line that has to be kept steady.
