Cross Stitch Kit "Bird of paradise"
Description
“Bird of paradise” — a hummingbird above flowers in a gold circle, its wing drawn as a pale outline.
What the picture shows
The bird hovers in flight, its beak long and thin, its breast and head shifting through emerald, turquoise and violet, its tail pink and red. It is set inside a thin gold circle worked in metallic thread. Below the hummingbird are several large flowers: a yellow one with a dark centre, a crimson one and a violet one, with soft transitions inside the petals. The right wing and some leaves are not filled with colour but only outlined in white, and that device opens the composition up. Forty thread colours across 55 m. The grey canvas stays open and holds the whole palette together. The wings are given blurred, in motion, while the body is drawn sharply — the contrast is deliberate. The leaves at the bottom are left as outline only, with no colour filling.
