Description

“Autumn garden palette” shows three pumpkins among chrysanthemums, with a few leaves flying above them. The piece is calm and warm.

What the picture shows

The pumpkins stand side by side in the lower half: two large orange ones with clear segments and dark stalks, and a smaller pale yellow one tucked to the left. Chrysanthemums open around them — ochre, terracotta and yellow, their small petals laid in separate stitches. Dark green foliage sits at the top left, while three reddish leaves and thin seed stalks hang in the air on the right. The background is light, with a faint grey-green haze that fades into bare fabric. There are 20 thread colours — the range is deliberately narrow, almost monochrome within the warm register. The chrysanthemums are built from dozens of narrow petals that have to be laid one by one — the longest part of the project. The pumpkins show lengthwise grooves and light highlights on top, and the leaves below have dried edges marked in a darker thread.
