“A quiet place” is a round picture with cherry blossom, mountains and a pagoda in the distance.

What the picture shows

The composition is set inside a circle. On the left a cherry tree with pink blossom and a dark curved trunk leans over the water; on the right a multi-tiered pagoda stands on a rock with a pine beside it. Greyish-blue mountains fade lighter towards the top, and a pale disc of sun hangs above. The palette is muted — blue, grey, olive and pink. The white canvas outside the circle is left unstitched and works as a mount. The mountains are worked in even horizontal layers and the cherry blossom in small pink dots of two or three stitches. The thread length is 115 m.
