Cross stitch cushion kits are 22 designs with a finished stitched area of 300×300 mm. The 14 count Aida comes as a 400×400 mm cut, leaving room for seams, and the background is usually left unstitched so the fabric colour becomes part of the design.

What is included and what you add
The kit holds the fabric, floss with enough thread for the whole design, a needle, a printed colour chart and QR codes for the digital formats. You supply the backing fabric, a zip or buttons and a cushion pad of the right size: once the stitching is done, the cover still has to be sewn.
Tips
- Grid lines. Tack a 10×10 grid in contrasting thread before the first stitch: over 300×300 mm any drift shows at once.
- Keep the seam allowance. Do not trim the Aida straight after stitching; you will need it whole when sewing.
- Washing. Wash the finished embroidery before making up the cover, not after.
Questions and answers
Is the cushion pad included?
No. The kit covers everything for the embroidery; backing fabric, fastening and pad are chosen separately.
How long does a cushion take?
60–110 hours: it is a large project with a palette of up to 46 colours.
Is the background stitched?
Usually not; the fabric colour stays part of the design. The coverage is stated in each kit's description.
Can the finished cushion be washed?
Yes, by hand in warm water with a mild detergent. The floss is washfast, but avoid drying in direct sun.
