Cross Stitch Kit "Summer road"

“Summer road” shows a dragonfly built from lacework ornament inside a symmetrical mandala.

What the picture shows

The insect's wings are spread the full width and filled with small scrolls, nets and dots in blue, lilac and white. The body and head are worked in crimson with orange accents, and symmetrical patterns radiate around them and close into a circle. The light blue canvas shows between the elements and keeps the ornament transparent. Sixteen floss colours, 70 m; some points are worked in Preciosa beads, and a beading needle is included. The wings are worked from the body outwards: the further out, the sparser the stitches, and that is how the lace effect appears.

The design is 300×300 mm, rated average. Fabric for sewing the cover comes with the kit and the pad is bought separately. The symmetry helps: half the chart is simply repeated as a mirror image. A QR code for the SAGA app comes with the chart, where the symmetry of the ornament is easy to follow. Stitch the dragonfly's body first and the ornament around it from the centre outwards.
